2024 Nonprofit Summit

Tickets are now available for the 2024 Nonprofit Summit, presented by Heart of Indiana United Way, on Wednesday, October 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Horizon Convention Center. This year’s summit will provide essential education, networking opportunities, and professional development for local nonprofits, continuing to strengthen the nonprofit sector in east central Indiana.

What to look forward to

The Nonprofit Summit features a dynamic lineup of breakout sessions and networking opportunities. Attendees will hear from leading local, regional, and national voices, including an inspiring keynote by Dr. Deb Mashek, a relationship scientist and author renowned for her work on collaboration and building meaningful connections. Tickets for the Nonprofit Summit are $75 per person, with scholarships available for Muncie-Delaware County nonprofits by contacting nonprofitsummit@muncienonprofits.org.

The event will also include the Nonprofit Pulse Luncheon from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, featuring Dr. Deb Mashek’s keynote address Collaboration: From Empty Buzzword to Key Transformative Impact. This luncheon brings together nonprofit organizations, community and business leaders, volunteers, and passionate individuals to explore the power of true collaboration, share experiences, and advance stronger connections that drive meaningful change in the nonprofit sector. Tickets to the Nonprofit Pulse Luncheon are included in admission to the Nonprofit Summit or can be purchased separately for $45.

New this year is the opportunity for current college students to attend the Nonprofit Summit for free. Students should use the discount code “Student” to receive a free registration, making it easier than ever for the next generation of nonprofit leaders to engage, learn, and network with professionals in the field.

Dr. Deb Mashek, PhD, is a business advisor, professor, and national nonprofit executive with extensive experience in higher education administration. She is the author of Collabor(h)ate: How to Build Incredible Collaborative Relationships at Work and has been featured in numerous top media outlets. As the founder of Myco Consulting LLC, Deb helps mission-driven organizations navigate complex collaborations to achieve significant impact. Thanks to generous grant support from the George and Frances Ball Foundation, we are excited to bring this distinguished national speaker to the Nonprofit Summit.

More breakout sessions

Based on feedback from last year’s inaugural Nonprofit Summit, more breakout sessions have been added! This year’s sessions cover a range of vital topics to strengthen nonprofit leadership and operations. Sessions will explore enhancing employee engagement in mission-driven organizations, strategic storytelling for nonprofit success, fostering belonging and inclusive environments, increasing grant success, building inclusive boards, improving client care, and leveraging generative AI. Additionally, sessions on creating sustainable volunteer programs and assessing organizational health through lifecycle frameworks offer practical guidance to help nonprofits grow and thrive.

These sessions offer more than just learning opportunities; they provide a platform for engaging, questioning, and exploring the driving forces behind nonprofit success. Times, descriptions, and speaker biographies are available at muncienonprofits.org/nonprofit-summit-2024#schedule.

Thanks to our supporters

Support for the Nonprofit Summit is provided by Heart of Indiana United Way, LifeStream Services, City of Muncie, and Northwest Bank. Breakout sponsors include Estep Burkey & Simmons, Ball State University Office of Community Engagement, and Purple Ink, LLC.
