Building Connections, Fueling Success: Nonprofit Support Network's Impact on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie

Amy Gibson, Director of Resource Development for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie, doesn’t stop when school is out, her organization is buzzing with kids from around the area taking advantage of The Clubs, which provides a safe, structured, and positive environment for them to flourish.

She is responsible for fundraising efforts to continue better serving the children of Muncie, who depend on the services of The Clubs. Like many nonprofit workers, Amy’s work is a lot of weight on her shoulders, which is why Nonprofit Support Network has been so helpful to her professionally and personally. She has become part of a strong network of women in the nonprofit sector within Muncie. This network has provided support and learning opportunities to help her grow within her role. The Nonprofit Support Network, led by Carly, has initiated and grown these connections this past year.

Nonprofit Support Network is a dedicated resource for nonprofits, focused on connecting nonprofits with the tools they need to be successful and connecting nonprofit workers to foster relationships and collaborations.

Carly has created connections and coordinated events to foster these connections within the nonprofit community. Whenever I feel stuck on something, I know that she is an email or phone call away, and she is always committed to finding a solution.
— Amy Gibson

The support Amy feels from Carly and the nonprofits she had connected with makes her better serve her position. Amy credits Carly’s experience working with the local foundations as a significant benefit of the Nonprofit Support Network, she will often seek advice from Carly about grant proposals and fundraising to gain a better understanding and help navigate the next steps. The nonprofit sector is a lot of hard work and Nonprofit Support Network understands those challenges as well as the reality of burnout, which is why Carly can be such a service to those like Amy who need professional help as well as someone to support and encourage them through a feeling of companionship in a space that sometimes feels lonely.
