CORE Fundraising Training Program
The 2023 cohort is underway.
Check back for the next cohort coming in 2025.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
This cohort-style fundraising training program is designed to immerse you in a dynamic and supportive learning environment, featuring two customized courses from The Fund Raising School at IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, monthly meetings with Adam Clevenger, a fundraising expert, and personalized one-on-one support.
During the program, you'll explore an array of topics related to the development process, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. We'll help you implement fundraising tactics that focus on diversification of funding, such as annual funds and major gifts from individuals. By joining our program, you'll be equipped with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in the world of nonprofit fundraising.
WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN
Fundraising training programs like CORE can be a great opportunity for nonprofit leaders to enhance their skills and knowledge in the area of fundraising. Not only can these programs help organizations increase their fundraising income, but they can also lead to greater financial sustainability and the ability to expand their reach and impact in the community.
CORE Fundraising Training Program is an excellent investment in your nonprofit's future. The program fee for 2023 is $200 per person and scholarships are available to reduce the fee to $75. This course is valued at over $4,000 and is generously supported by Hamer D. and Phyllis C. Shafer Foundation and The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County.
Enrollment is closed for the 2023 CORE Fundraising Training Program.
“What set CORE program apart from any other training was the length of training, the coaching, and the camaraderie that developed among participants. Attending multiple sessions over several months created opportunities for accountability, coaching, and follow-through on the concepts being introduced. Unlike a one-time class where you take notes and learn some new techniques, we were given assignments and asked for results in follow-up sessions.”
- Julie Borgmann, Red-Tail Land Conservancy
SCHEDULE AND PARTICIPATION
Training will kick off on Friday, June 2, and will last through Wednesday, November 15. All sessions will be hosted in Muncie at Nonprofit Support Network’s office or Ball State University’s Oakwood Building. The training schedule is below.
It’s important to note that participation in every course is required to fully benefit from the fundraising training program. Each course is carefully designed to build on the previous one and provide a complete understanding of the fundraising process. We want to make sure that every participant has the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in nonprofit fundraising. As such, we strongly encourage all participants to commit to attending every course in the program in person. This program is limited to individuals who currently work for nonprofits serving Muncie-Delaware County.
Developing Annual Sustainability
Successful fundraising is an ongoing process. As you continue to identify new donors, you also need to maintain good relations with current donors and encourage them to repeat and increase their giving. Learn and strengthen the fundraising skills that can sustain your organization including direct mail, online giving, major gifts and special events.
This course will also be open to the public for $125 per person.
Effective Leadership, Successful Fundraising
You have developed significant fundraising skills, and now you have been promoted to lead the fundraising team. Especially for the new leader or the fundraising executive aspiring for a leadership position, in this course, you will learn how to develop and cast vision for your fundraising operation, recruit and retain talent, continually innovate, lead through consensus, address setbacks, and hold colleagues accountable for results.
This course will also be open to the public for $75 per person.
